Discussions, pages and chat
Talk things through in discussions, keep notes and specs in pages, and use chat for quick questions.
Discussions
A project's Discussions tab is its forum: one topic per subject, with replies under it.
- Click Start a discussion, give it a title and a message, and a category if you like (Design, Announcements ...). Type @ and a name to tell someone.
- Everyone following the project is told about a new discussion. Whoever starts or replies in one follows it and hears about new replies - click the bell to follow or stop.
- Project managers can Pin to the top and Close for replies from the ... menu.
- When the project has clients, a discussion or a single reply can be Team only - clients never see it.
- Deleted discussions wait in the Recycle bin for 30 days.
Pages
Pages (under More) is the project's wiki - specs, how-tos, meeting notes, decisions.
- Click New page, write with the toolbar (headings, bold, lists, quotes, code, links, lines) and Save page. Text you paste comes in as plain text.
- Put a page Inside another to build a tree; Add a page inside from the ... menu.
- Every save keeps the version before it. History shows each version: View it, or Restore to put it back (the current one is kept too).
- Team only keeps a page (and the pages inside it) from clients.
- Deleting a page takes the pages inside it to the recycle bin too.
Chat
Chat (under More) is quick talk for the people on the project - new messages appear by themselves every few seconds. Press Enter to send and Shift + Enter for a new line. @mention someone to tell them. Clients don't see the chat.
The tab shows how many messages you haven't read.
