Maintenance and repairs
Keep your equipment running with breakdown and planned requests, and repair customers' products.
Maintenance looks after your own machines. Repairs fixes products for your customers. Both come with Business.
Equipment
Go to Equipment and add each machine: Name, Category, Work centre, Where it is, Team, Technician, and details such as Model, Serial number, Vendor and Warranty until.
Under Planned maintenance, set Every (days), Next due and It takes (minutes). Requests are then made by themselves when the time comes.
Each piece of equipment shows its Reliability: Failures, Days between, Days to repair, Last failure and Next expected. Set Expect failures every (days) to compare.
Maintenance requests
Go to Maintenance, or raise one from the shop floor when something breaks. Click New request.
- What needs doing?, the Equipment and Work centre
- Type - Breakdown or Planned
- Team, Responsible, When, It takes (minutes) and Priority
- Hold the work centre during this work - planning goes around it
The Board has New request, In progress, Repaired and Scrap. Drag requests across. Moving one to Scrap marks the equipment as scrapped, and it goes out of use. The Calendar shows what is planned each day.
Repair orders
Go to Repairs and click New repair order.
- Enter the Product to repair, Quantity, Customer, Serial number or Batch, and Due date.
- Enter the Labour charge. Switch on Under warranty: nothing to bill if it's covered.
Under Parts, add each one:
- New part goes in
- Part comes out, keep
- Part comes out, throw away
Then click Confirm, Start repair and Finish repair. Parts move in stock when you finish. If it isn't under warranty, click Make invoice, and the invoice goes in your books with your usual tax.
Statuses: Draft, Confirmed, Being repaired, Repaired and Cancelled.
