ElliboHelp Centre

The client portal

Invite your clients to follow their projects - only what you choose, never what you keep to the team - and let them pay invoices online.

What clients get

A client user signs in to their own client portal: a simple page with the projects they are on and nothing else of your Projects. For each project they can see what you allow:

  • Tasks in task lists that are not team only, with their comments and files, and comment on them.
  • Milestones, Issues (and report new ones), Documents (and upload), Discussions, Pages and the Meetings they are invited to.
  • Invoices for the project, with the PDF and Pay now when online payments are switched on in Integrations.

They are told in the bell (and by email) when someone replies to them, and they get calendar invitations for meetings. The team is told when a client comments, reports an issue, uploads a file or starts a discussion.

Invite a client

  1. Open the project's Members tab (under More).
  2. In Clients, click Invite a client, enter their email and choose their company (one of your customers).
  3. They get an email to set up their login (or sign in, if they already use Ellibo). They land straight in the portal.

To give an invited client another project, use Add a client user you already invited on that project's Members tab.

What clients see

On the Members tab, What clients see sets, for that project: tasks, comments on tasks, milestones, issues, reporting issues, documents, uploading documents, discussions, pages, meetings, invoices and time.

Anything marked Team only always stays hidden from clients, whatever these switches say:

  • task lists (the list's ... > Edit > Team only) and milestones (Edit > Team only);
  • issues (Visible to > Team only);
  • comments and replies (tick Team only when you write them);
  • folders and files in Documents;
  • discussions, pages and meetings.

The chat, Finance, time and the activity history are never shown to clients.

Client users and your plan

Client users don't take one of your user seats. The client portal is in the Professional plan, with 10 client users; add packs of 10 more on Plan & Billing. Settings > Users & roles > Client users lists them; Remove access signs them out of the portal for good.
