Reports and dashboards
Ready-made reports, your own custom reports, and dashboards with every project at a glance.
Open Reports in the menu. Every report shows only what you can see: your projects (on projects where you are a contractor, only your own tasks), and time as your role allows.
Ready-made reports
| Report | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Tasks by status | Each project's tasks by status, right now. |
| Overdue tasks by person | Open tasks past their due date, by owner, with the list and days late. |
| Planned vs actual hours | Planned hours on tasks against hours logged - by project, or by task when you pick a project. |
| Utilization | The hours each person logged against the hours they could work in the period (from the work calendar, up to today), and the billable share. |
| Time by person and project | Hours logged in the period, billable or not. |
| Tasks added vs closed | Week by week. |
| Burndown | For one project: open tasks left, day by day, against the straight line to its end date. |
| Issues | Open issues by severity; by assignee, how many were resolved, the average time to resolve and how many missed their SLA. |
| Milestones | Every milestone: due, done or late, and how far its tasks are. |
| Project portfolio | Every project: status, progress, open and overdue tasks, open issues, hours, budget used and its health - On track, At risk (overdue tasks or the budget alert reached) or Off track (past its end date or over budget). |
Choose the period, a project and a person where the report has them. Excel downloads the table.
Custom reports
Click New report and choose:
- Of: tasks, issues, time or projects.
- Show: what to count or add up - number of tasks, planned hours, average % complete, hours, billable hours, average days to resolve, average progress.
- By and Split by: for example tasks by owner split by status, or time by project split by person.
- Chart: columns, bars, line, donut, table or one number.
- When they were added (or logged), open or closed, and which projects.
The preview changes as you go. Save report, and tick Share to let everyone in Projects use it - each person sees it with their own access.
Dashboards
Click New dashboard (or Make my dashboard the first time - it starts with the usual tiles). On a dashboard:
- Choose the period and a project for every tile at once.
- Edit to Add a tile - numbers (open tasks, overdue tasks, tasks closed, hours, open and critical issues, active and late projects), ready-made reports and your custom reports. Drag tiles by their title to reorder, use the arrows to make one small, medium or large, and the cross to remove it. Click Done to save.
- The gear names the dashboard, shares it with everyone, or deletes it.
Tasks by status and overdue tasks are in every plan. The other ready-made reports are in the Standard plan and above. Custom reports and dashboards are in the Professional plan (up to 10 custom reports and 3 dashboards) and have no limit in the Business plan. The project portfolio is in the Business plan.
