Move to Ellibo HR

Bring your people across from a spreadsheet or another tool, without breaking a pay month.

You can move in stages. Start with records and leave, then add payroll when you are ready.

1. Get your list ready

Save your employee list as a CSV file from your spreadsheet or your old tool. Only the first name is required. The import can also take last name, employee ID, work and personal email, mobile, date of birth, gender, joining date, job title, employee type, department, location, status and the employee ID of their manager.

Write dates like 2026-01-31.

2. Import

Go to Employees and choose import. The app tells you which rows it couldn't save, and why. Departments and locations that don't exist yet are made for you. It stops if you reach your plan's limit on employees.

Bank and tax numbers don't come in with the import. The Admin or Payroll role enters them on each record.

3. Opening leave balances

On the day you start, enter each person's balance as an opening balance. See Leave and holidays. This keeps what they earned before.

4. Set salaries

Set each person's salary from the first month you will pay here. See Salaries and pay lines.

Run one month side by side

Before you stop your old payroll, make a draft in Ellibo for the same month. Compare each person's net pay. Differences usually come from pay lines set differently, or from days counted differently. Cancel the draft afterwards, as a month can have only one regular run.

Attendance

If you have clock-in records, you can import them from a file. See Kiosks and devices. You only need the current month. A month you already paid elsewhere doesn't need attendance here.

Your books

Pay runs post to your books from the day you start. Your old salary journals stay as they were, so you don't need to bring them across.
