Dropship and backorders
Have your vendor send goods straight to the customer, or order what's short when a sales order needs more than you have.
Backorders
When a sales order needs more than you have (counting what's already on order), the order page offers to Backorder them. Ellibo makes purchase orders for the shortage: one per preferred vendor, as drafts for you to check and send.
To do this for every new sales order automatically, turn on Backorders for new sales orders under Settings › Business settings › Preferences.
When the goods arrive, receive them as usual and pack the sales order.
Dropship
With dropship, your vendor sends the goods straight to your customer. They never come into your stock.
- Open the sales order. For the lines not yet packed, click Dropship (or Create dropship purchase order).
- A purchase order goes to the vendor with the customer's delivery address.
- When the customer has the goods, open the purchase order and click Mark delivered. Enter the Delivery date and Tracking number if you have them.
- Invoice the customer from the sales order, and record the vendor's bill from the purchase order.
Click Undo delivery if you marked it delivered by mistake.
