Item groups, units, composites and price lists
Sell variants such as sizes and colours, buy in cartons and sell in pieces, build kits from other items, and give special prices to chosen customers.
Turn each of these on first under Settings › Business settings › Preferences.
Item groups (variants)
An item group holds the variants of one product, such as a T-shirt in S, M and L, or in red and blue. Each variant is its own item, with its own SKU, barcode, price and stock.
- Go to Items › Item Groups and click + New Item Group.
- Enter the Item group name, for example Cotton T-shirt, and its Unit, Category, HSN and Description.
- Under Attributes, add each attribute, such as Colour, with its values separated by commas: Red, Blue.
- Under Variants, Ellibo lists one item for each combination. Check their SKUs, prices and barcodes, then save.
Click View items on a group to see its variants.
Other units
With Other units on, an item can be bought or sold in a bigger unit while stock is kept in the base unit. For example, buy in boxes of 12 and sell in pieces: 1 BOX = 12 PCS. Choose the unit on each order line, and Ellibo converts the stock.
Composite items and assemblies
Business plan. A composite item is a kit or bundle made from other items, such as a gift hamper.
- Create the composite item and list its Components: the items that go into one kit, with quantities.
- Go to Items › Assemblies and click + New Assembly. Choose the Composite item, the Quantity, and the Action: Assemble (build) or Take apart.
- Save. Building takes the components out of stock and puts the finished kits in. Taking apart does the reverse.
Price lists
Business plan. A price list gives special prices to chosen customers or vendors, for example wholesale prices.
- Go to Items › Price Lists and click + New Price List.
- Enter a Name, such as Wholesale, and choose the Type: Sales (customers) or Purchase (vendors).
- Under Pricing, choose Markup / markdown on item prices and enter a Percentage, or Price for each item and click + Add item for each one.
- Save, then choose the price list on the customer or vendor. Their orders and invoices use it automatically.
