Clients and jobs
What a job is, how clients work, and billing details on a job.
A job is work people log time on. It can be for a client, like "GST returns", or internal, like "Admin". Go to Clients & jobs.
You don't need a job for work in Ellibo Projects. Projects appear on the sheet by themselves.
Add a job
Click New job and fill in:
- Job name - the only thing you must enter.
- Client - start typing to find one. Leave it empty for internal work.
- Code - your own short reference, if you use one.
- Budget (hours) - the budget shows in red when the job goes over it.
- New time on this job is billable - new time starts billable. Internal work is never billable.
Admins, Managers and Finance can add jobs.
Clients
Clients are your business's customers, the same list your other Ellibo apps use. If a name isn't found, choose Add as a new client right there in the job form.
Billing details
Admins and Finance also see these. They matter when you make invoices on the Professional plan.
- Rate an hour - this job's rate. Leave it empty to use the person's rate.
- Tax on invoices (%) - the GST on this job's invoice lines.
- Service on invoices - a service from your items. Its tax and SAC code go on the invoice instead of the tax above.
See Invoices from hours for how the rate is chosen.
Close a job
Turn off Active on the job. Nobody can add new time to it or start a timer on it, and its logged time stays.
