Shared stock with POS
If you also bill with Ellibo POS, Inventory can hold one stock count for the warehouse POS sells from.
Shared stock is optional. When it's on, POS sales, returns, purchases and adjustments reach the warehouse you choose, and what you receive or adjust in Inventory reaches POS. Both happen within about 5 minutes. If a sync is late, POS keeps billing and the counts catch up on the next run.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings › Shared stock with POS. Only admins can turn it on.
- Choose the warehouse POS sells from.
- Review your items. Ellibo matches them by barcode, then code, then exact name. For each POS item you can pick an Inventory item, Create in Inventory, or Don't share.
- Where the two counts differ, choose which Count to keep. Inventory's count is selected for you.
- Click Turn on shared stock.
Stock tracking must be on in POS first.
A new item created this way starts with its POS count as opening stock, so Profit & Loss doesn't count it as profit. Check its tax rate, because it starts at zero.
What you'll see
- Item history: movements from POS show as POS Stock. A count you chose to take from POS shows as POS Count.
- Stock value: POS movements count in your stock value and stock reports, like any other movement.
- A count below zero: POS can bill when stock is low, so a warehouse count can go negative until you receive stock or adjust it.
What isn't shared
- Items that use batches, serial numbers or bundles, because POS can't say which batch was sold.
- Other warehouses. POS only follows the one you chose.
If you later switch on batches for a shared item, or make it inactive, it stops being shared and the page shows a note.
Turn it off
Click Turn off shared stock. Both counts stay as they are, and from then on POS and Inventory each keep their own.
