Batches, serial numbers and bins

Track batch numbers and expiry dates, individual serial numbers, and the shelf each item sits on.

These features are part of the Professional plan and above. They need stock to move on shipments and receives: under Settings › Business settings › Stock tracking, choose Shipments & purchase receives.

Batches and expiry dates

For food, medicines, cosmetics and anything with a shelf life.

1. Turn on Batches & expiry dates under Preferences.
2. When you receive goods, enter the Batch no. and expiry date for each batch.
3. When you pack an order, the batch with the earliest expiry is picked first.

The item page shows Batches in stock, and labels can print the batch and expiry date.

Serial numbers

For electronics, appliances and anything sold one by one with a warranty.

1. Turn on Serial numbers under Preferences.
2. When you receive goods, enter the new serial numbers, one per line.
3. When you pack an order, choose or scan the serials going out.

The item page shows Serial numbers in stock.

Bins

Bins are the shelves and racks inside a warehouse.

1. Turn on Bins under Preferences.
2. Under the Warehouses tab, add bins with + New bin.
3. Add put-away rules with + New rule, for example Beverages go to rack B.

When you receive goods, Ellibo suggests the bin from your rules. Picklists show which bin to pick from, and the item page shows Stock by bin.
