Categories, variations and add-ons
Group your products into categories, sell sizes or portions with variations, and offer extras with add-ons.
Categories
Categories group your products on the billing screen and in reports, for example Starters, Main Course and Beverages.
- Go to Menu › Categories and click + New.
- Enter the Category Name and, if you like, a Description.
- Click Save.
On the billing screen, the categories show as a list on the left. All shows every product.
Restaurants: each category can print its KOT at its own kitchen station, such as the bar or the grill. See KOT stations.
Variations
Use a variation when one product comes in several sizes or portions, each with its own price. For example, a coffee in Small, Medium and Large.
- Go to Menu › Variations and click + New.
- Enter the Variation Name, for example Size or Portion, and save.
- Open the variation and add its options, for example Small, Medium and Large.
- When you add a product, choose Variable Product, pick the variation, and enter the price for each option.
When a cashier taps the product on the billing screen, POS asks which option to add.
Add-ons
Add-ons are extras added to a product for a price, such as extra cheese or an extra shot of coffee.
- Go to Menu › Addons and click + New.
- Enter the Addon Name and its Price, then save.
- Open each product that offers the add-on and choose it under Available Addons.
